The Results Are In 2025 Craven SPORT Services Racing Series #1
The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club kicked off the 2025 swim season by hosting the inaugural event of the Craven SPORT Services Racing Series. The Club is excited to organize four of these outstanding competitive events throughout the busy swim season, aimed at nurturing our developing swimmers.
On Saturday, September 28, 2024, the Goldfins welcomed four Saskatchewan age group swim clubs: Meadow Lake Manta Rays, Battleford Orcas, Saskatoon Lasers Swim Club, and the Swift Current Barracudas. A total of 128 swimmers participated in over 383 individual events, in addition to a non-sanctioned relay.
For many swimmers, this marked their first competition of the season, and for some, it was the very first meet of their swimming journey.
"The Goldfins Swim Club was thrilled to host the inaugural event in this series of developmental swim meets," shared Jennifer Robinson, Head Development Coach of Goldfins. She emphasized the benefits of organizing this meet: "Through our partnership with Craven SPORT Services, we have created a framework to foster competitive swimming throughout Saskatchewan. Craven SPORT Services has consistently supported the Goldfins Swim Club by providing dry-land training, physiotherapy consultations, and event sponsorship."
"This series of meets offers our novice swimmers the opportunity to compete within their specific age groups, creating a comforting environment for our newest competitors. Participants will gain confidence and hone their competitive skills, preparing them for future senior seeded events."
Swimmers received commemorative stickers for achieving personal best times and for winning their respective heats. The winners of the Craven SPORT Services Door Prizes were Cora Giblin, Oliver Ledingham-Off, and Susan Ryan.
A distinctive relay event was featured during this meet, highlighting the three strokes included in the competition: Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle. The medley relay – 3 X 50M (No Fly stroke) was conducted as a non-sanctioned event. Four heats were organized, with the Battleford Orcas ‘A’ Relay team—comprised of Claire Meiers, Jemma Greening, and Katelyn Louko—emerging victorious in the relay event. The relay champions proudly received some delightful Boston Pizza Blairmore coupons as their reward for securing first place.
The Goldfins Swim Club had a thrilling turnout with 68 swimmers participating in the event. The Goldfins achieved an impressive total of 162 personal best times in short course competitions.
