Saskatoon Goldfins Gear Up for 2026 Best of the West Fest

A Championship Season with New Horizons

The Saskatoon Goldfins are riding high on their championship season as they prepare to showcase their talents at the inaugural 2026 Best of the West Fest Western Canadian Championships. The much-anticipated event will take place from April 23 to 26, 2026, at the Pan Am Pool in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

A Diverse Team Ready to Compete

Representing the Goldfins, a formidable team of 14 swimmers, including Victoria Darling, James DeLathouwer, Foster Fourney, Abigail Gauld, Nicole Godbout, Avery Houle, Dejan Jarcan, Landon Kennedy, Piper Lejbak, Isabel Magus, Benjamin Nesteroff, Carson Sereda-Wosminity, Oliver Wruck, and Kian Wu, will be competing under the guidance of Head Coach Steven Hitchings and Age Group Head Coach Ted Murphy.

An Exciting Opportunity for Growth

Head Coach Steven Hitchings expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "We are excited for this opportunity to race in a Jr National style meet in Winnipeg. Thanks to the hard work of Swim BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, our swimmers get to race the top talent in Western Canada. This will be a fun meet filled with plenty of learning opportunities and fast swimming. The Goldfins are well represented by 14 swimmers wearing the Blue and Gold!"

  • Thursday, April 23, 2026 – Preliminaries at 1:30 PM

    • 200M Individual Medley: Abigail Gauld, James DeLathouwer

    • 1500M Freestyle: Landon Kennedy

  • Friday, April 24, 2026 – Prelims at 8:30 AM & Finals at 5:00 PM

    • 100M Fly: Isabel Magus

    • 200M Breaststroke: Abigail Gauld, Avery Houle, Dejan Jarcan, Kian Wu

    • 50M Freestyle: Piper Lejbak, Avery Houle, Isabel Magus, Victoria Darling, Carson Sereda-Wosminity, James DeLathouwer, Foster Fourney, Kian Wu

    • 200M Backstroke: Nicole Godbout, Benjamin Nesteroff, Oliver Wruck, Carson Sereda-Wosminity

    • 400M Freestyle: Landon Kennedy

  • Saturday, April 25, 2026 – Prelims at 8:30 AM & Finals at 5:00 PM

    • 50M Backstroke: Oliver Wruck, James DeLathouwer, Kian Wu

    • 200M Freestyle: Piper Lejbak, Nicole Godbout, Victoria Darling, Benjamin Nesteroff, Carson Sereda-Wosminity, James DeLathouwer, Landon Kennedy

    • 50M Fly: Isabel Magus, Carson Sereda-Wosminity, Foster Fourney

    • 100M Breaststroke: Abigail Gauld, Avery Houle, Isabel Magus, Dejan Jarcan, Kian Wu

  • Sunday, April 26, 2026 – Prelims at 8:30 AM & Finals at 5:00 PM

    • 100M Freestyle: Piper Lejbak, Victoria Darling, Isabel Magus, Carson Sereda-Wosminity, James DeLathouwer, Foster Fourney

    • 100M Backstroke: Nicole Godbout, Benjamin Nesteroff, Oliver Wruck, Carson Sereda-Wosminity, James DeLathouwer

    • 50M Breaststroke: Abigail Gauld, Avery Houle, Isabel Magus, Dejan Jarcan, Kian Wu
