Saskatoon Goldfins 2025 Senior Provincial Teams Continue to Grow

The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club made waves at the 13th Annual Michelle Moore Swim Meets held in Regina, SK, from May 9 to 11, 2025. With stellar performances, the Goldfins proudly announced the newest addition to their 2025 Senior Provincial Team: Dakota Wigness. Wigness is set to represent the Goldfins at the 2025 Man/SK Long Course Senior Provincial Championships in Winnipeg, MB, this July.

Rising Stars and Future Champions

The Michelle Moore Swim Meets also highlighted the promising talents of Elsa Fletcher, Danny Wang, and Oliver Ledingham-Off, who achieved Junior Provincial Championships time standards. Their efforts have qualified them to compete in the Saskatchewan Junior Championships in February 2026.

Personal Bests and Outstanding Progress

The competition witnessed 65 Goldfins swimmers achieving an impressive 268 personal best long course times. Special kudos to Elsa Fletcher, Zoe Gursky, Alex Kovalenko, Kyle MacGillivray, Max Magsuci, Atticus Mowat, Reese Veikle, Danny Wang, and Dakota Wigness, who all posted 100% personal best times.

Top 3 Most Improved Long Course Events:

  • Emery Bernier: 50 Fly - 29.7% Improvement (“-20.72”)
  • Miller Gotto: 200 Breaststroke - 24.3% Improvement (“-67.96”)
  • Naomi Wall: 100 Backstroke - 23.6% Improvement (“-31.65”)

Gratitude and Future Endeavors

The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club extends heartfelt thanks to the Goldfins parents who volunteered as officials and to the Regina Optimist Dolphins Swim Club for hosting the event. The Goldfins are eagerly anticipating their next challenge at the 2025 Mel Zajac JR International Swim Meet in Vancouver, BC, from May 16 to 18, 2025.
