It's GOLD for the Goldfins at the 2023 Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships
It was GOLD for Gold at the 2023 Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships – Toronto, ON – August 1 – 6, 2023. Goldfins swimmer, Keiran Dyck raced to the podium taking the gold medal in the Men’s 14 – 15 400M Individual Medley. In this same event, Keiran Dyck broke the Saskatoon Goldfins Men’s 15 – 17 long course record – 4:37.05, previously set in 2019. Dyck posted one Swimming Canada Junior Trials (400M Freestyle) and two Senior Trials qualifying time standards (400M IM and in the 800M Freestyle), earning his spot into the 2024 Canadian Olympic Trials – May 2023 – Montreal, QUE.
Holden Lees and Brayden Hemeon posted results in Breaststroke events, that tied provincial and club records. Lees, posted a time of 2:23.58, tying previous Men’s 15 – 17 club and provincial records, previously set by Goldfins swimmer Brayden Hemeon.
Brayden Hemeon, posted a result in the 50M Breaststroke – 29:02, which tied his own previously set provincial and club records (July 2022).
At this championship swim meet, the Goldfins Swim Club was represented by 8 swimmers, who competed in 21 finals, who posted 11 personal bests, and who added a total of 8 new long course qualifying time standards.
