Goldfins Masters Poised for Success - Anticipating a Strong Performance at the 2026 Regina Event

The Saskatoon Goldfins Masters are set to make a splash at the 2026 Regina Masters Swim Club's Mary Brown Long Course Masters Swim Meet on Saturday, March 28, 2026. This much-anticipated event, taking place in Regina, Saskatchewan, presents an exciting opportunity for the Goldfins Masters to showcase their dedication and skill.

Representing the Goldfins Masters will be a team of 14 enthusiastic swimmers, who are prepared to compete in a remarkable 59 individual events and three relay events. Each swimmer brings unique strengths and experience, contributing to a diverse and dynamic team ready to take on the challenges of the long course (50M) racing format.

Head Coach Gary Cheung expressed his optimism and excitement for the upcoming meet, stating, "The Goldfins Masters are excited to attend the annual Regina Masters Invitational, now renamed the Mary Brown Invitational. This competition will also feature long course racing, providing a great opportunity for our Masters swimmers to challenge themselves. Many are ready to chase personal bests while also supporting their friends and teammates from the deck. Best of luck to all our Goldfins Masters swimmers!"

The competition is structured into two sessions on March 28:

Session #1:

  • Warm-ups begin at 7:45 AM, with races starting at 8:35 AM.

  • Events include: 800M Freestyle, Mixed 4 X 100M Freestyle Relay, 100M Breaststroke, 50M Freestyle, 200M Butterfly, 100M Backstroke, 4 X 100M Medley Relays, 200M Freestyle, 50M Butterfly, and 200M Breaststroke.

Session #2:

  • Warm-ups commence at 12:00 PM, and races start at 12:50 PM.

  • Events include: 100M Freestyle, 400M Freestyle, 400M Individual Medley, 50M Breaststroke, 200M Backstroke, 4 X 100M Freestyle Relays, 100M Butterfly, 50M Backstroke, 200M Individual Medley, and Mixed 4 X 100M Medley Relay.

 

 

The Goldfins Masters swim team, featuring Tara Bayne, Heather Campbell, Jennifer Furlong, Denise Gilewicz, Rachel Hahn, Theresa Kliem, Megan Robin, Susan Ryan, Charlene Zaidan, Devon Chistoffel, Peter Doig, Melvin Hitchings, Michel Levesque, and Aaron Reynolds, is well-prepared and eager to compete.
