Saskatoon Goldfins Young Athletes are Ready to Shine

As the anticipation heightens, the Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club is preparing to bring their talents to the fore at the Kamloops June Classic Invitational. This prestigious event, scheduled from June 5 to 7, 2026, in Kamloops, British Columbia, promises to be a significant milestone for the promising young athletes of Saskatoon.

The Goldfins team, composed of eight exceptional swimmers aged 11 to 12, was selected based on their outstanding World Aquatic Points rankings. Their participation underscores the diversity of experiences and abilities represented within the team. As they embark on this exciting venture, the swimmers are poised to demonstrate their prowess in a highly competitive setting.

Coach Pederson’s Perspective: A Platform for Excellence

Sean Pederson, the Lead Coach for the Goldfins, remarked on the significance of the upcoming meet: “Goldfins 12 & Under swimmers function as a strong backbone to our performance at championship competitions. This weekend at KCS will be a perfect opportunity for them to showcase their ability in a 12 & under age category. Go Goldfins!”

    • Events include: 200M Individual Medley, 100M Breaststroke, 50M Fly, among others.

  • Saturday, June 6, 2026

    • Prelims: 8:30 AM | Finals: 5:00 PM

    • Events include: 100M Freestyle, 200M Fly, 50M Breaststroke, and more.

  • Sunday, June 7, 2026

    • Prelims: 8:30 AM | Finals: 5:00 PM

    • Events include: 200M Freestyle, 50M Backstroke, among others.

The 50M Freestyle Eliminator: A Test of Tenacity

An exciting feature of the event is the 50M Freestyle Eliminator. On June 6, the top four finishers per gender will compete to secure a spot in the final showdown on June 7. The ultimate winner will be awarded a prize, highlighting their exceptional skill and determination.
