Goldfins Excel at the 2024 Winter Solstice Swim Meet
The Goldfins Swim Club had an exhilarating weekend at the 2024 Winter Solstice Swim Meet held on November 30 and December 1, 2024, in Regina, Saskatchewan. With 37 swimmers representing the club, they competed in over 270 individual and relay events at this Junior level championship meet.
Personal Best Achievements
The club celebrated outstanding performances, with three swimmers achieving 100% personal best times:
- Aahna Chaudhury
- Luka Fehr
- Ty Fehr
Their dedication and hard work truly paid off, setting a high standard for personal improvement.
Top 3 Most Improved Individual Events
The Goldfins recognized the top three most improved swimmers at the meet:
- Jacob Findlay 25M Freestyle “-12.31” 41.3% Improvement
- Cohen Dickson 25M Backstroke “- 4.37” 23.8% Improvement
- Elliotte Mah 100M Breaststroke “30.39” 21.3% Improvement
These swimmers demonstrated remarkable progress, showcasing their growth and commitment to their sport.
New Junior Provincial Qualifying Time Standards
The meet also saw Goldfins swimmers posting seven new Junior Provincial Qualifying Time Standards. Congratulations to the following swimmers for their exceptional performances:
- Mara Cherek 50 Backstroke, 50 & 400 Freestyle
- Lennox Armstrong 50 & 200 Backstroke
- Cohen Veikle 200 Backstroke & 200 Freestyle
Their achievements have set new benchmarks for the club and inspire fellow teammates to aim high.
Looking Ahead
The Goldfins Swim Club is set to continue their racing momentum this weekend in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They will be competing in the 2024 Prairie Winter International from December 5 to 8, 2024. The team is eager to build on their recent successes and showcase their skills on a larger stage.
