Goldfins Celebrate Excellence: October 2025 Swimmers of the Month

The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club is proud to announce the Swimmers of the Month program for 2026, celebrating athletes who show exceptional commitment, enthusiasm, and resilience. Each month, swimmers who embody these traits will be recognized. Excellence in swimming is not just about speed or wins but also perseverance, positivity, and team inspiration.
Swimmers of the Month are chosen for their pool performance, sportsmanship, leadership, and team spirit. They serve as role models, demonstrating that success in swimming combines skill, mindset, and teamwork.
This program highlights diverse talents and strengths, fostering a supportive community. It reflects the club's dedication to nurturing each swimmer's potential, valuing their journey as much as their achievements.
October 2025

Kian Wu (G3N) - In October Kian had a great month of swimming his focus in practice and at swim meets was better than ever, showing a lot of maturity to start his grade 12 year of swimming. Kian was focused on qualifying for the Team Sask trip to the Ontario Junior International happening in Toronto on December 11-14. We decided his best chance to qualify was in the breaststroke events and Kian work at improving these events for the Goldfins Invitational. Kian's focus and dedication over the month of October lead to him swimming a best time in all three of his breaststroke races and qualifying for Ontario Junior International meet in Toronto.

Heimarie Strydom (B3) - Congratulation to Heimarie Strydom for being the October Swimmer of the month. New to the Goldfins from summer club, Heimarie has hit the ground running. After shaking off some early meet jitters at the Norm Banfield meet, she emerged with a clearer picture of what year Goldfin swimming would be like.
She got back to training and her hard work paid off at the Goldfin Invitational, where she achieved her AA time in the 50 Fly.
Heimarie’s eagerness to learn, her commitment to improvement, and her growing independence (including recently earning her driver’s license!) make her a standout member of our team. We’re proud to celebrate her progress and look forward to seeing what she accomplishes next.
Congratulations, Heimarie!
