A Stellar Performance at the 2025 Man/SK Senior Provincial Championships
The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club demonstrated exceptional talent and teamwork at the 2025 Man/SK Short Course Senior Provincial Championships held from March 6 to 9 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The club emerged victorious as the Top Saskatchewan Large Club, amassing an impressive 5,770 points and securing the Overall High Points Award.
Record-Breaking Performances
The Goldfins swim team had an impressive weekend, with two of their talented young swimmers, Miller Gotto and An Nguyen, breaking their own previously set club records in the Girls 10 & Under Short Course category.
Miller Gotto's Record-Breaking Performances
Miller Gotto showcased her exceptional swimming skills by not only breaking her record but doing so twice in one weekend. Her first record-breaking performance was in the Girls 50M Backstroke for the 12 & Under age group, where she achieved an improved time of 36.65 seconds. Demonstrating her relentless pursuit of excellence, Miller further improved her time during the Girls 12 & Under 200M Medley Relay. Leading off the Goldfins 'B' team, she posted another personal best with a time of 36.60 seconds.
An Nguyen's Remarkable Achievement
An Nguyen, another star swimmer for the Goldfins, had previously set the Goldfins Girls 10 & Under 50M Breaststroke Short Course Club Record in February 2025. Displaying great determination and skill, An improved upon her own record twice as well. She first bettered her time in the preliminary heats with a new record of 43.02 seconds. Not stopping there, she went on to surpass her own achievement in the finals session, clocking in at an impressive 41.82 seconds.
Both Miller Gotto and An Nguyen's performances are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the excellent coaching at the Goldfins swim club. Their achievements not only inspire their teammates but also set a high standard for future competitions.
Goldfins swimmers achieved remarkable results, establishing numerous new long course time standards. The club boasted 49 Swim Saskatchewan Provincial Qualifying Time Standards, 16 Swim Saskatchewan Junior Provincial Qualifying Time Standards, and 33 Swim Saskatchewan Senior Provincial Qualifying Time Standards.
