2026 Goldfins Pentathlon Swim Meet Preview: A Celebration of Talent and Sportsmanship

The Goldfins Swim Club proudly announces the 2026 Goldfins Pentathlon Swim Meet, set to take place on February 7th and 8th at the Shaw Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This highly anticipated event promises an exhilarating display of swimming prowess, featuring a long course format that welcomes emerging talent from across the region.

The meet will showcase five events for each age group category, with participants as follows: Female swimmers aged 10 and under, and 11 and over; and male swimmers aged 11 and under, and 12 and over. This structure is designed to provide developing swimmers with an exceptional opportunity to challenge themselves and grow within a competitive but supportive environment.

A total of seven teams will join the Goldfins Swim Club, bringing together 211 dedicated swimmers who will compete across 20 events, accumulating to 945 individual races. As excitement builds, anticipation for fast racing and thrilling finishes is palpable, with athletes vying for awards and prizes that recognize their dedication and skill.

Awards will be presented to the top three point scorers in the age groups, divided as follows: Female categories are 10 and under, 11–12, and 13 and over; male categories are 11 and under, 12–13, and 14 and over. Additionally, special "Bell Heat" prizes will be awarded, adding an extra layer of excitement to the proceedings.

 

 

Notably, 99 Goldfins swimmers will compete in this meet, showcasing their talents and representing their club with pride. The schedule is neatly divided into two sessions:

  • Session 1 on Saturday, February 7, 2026, will include events such as the 50M and 100M Freestyle, 50M and 100M Breaststroke, and 50M and 100M Fly. Goldfins swimmers are expected to arrive at 11:30 AM, with the officials' briefing at 11:45 AM, and races commencing at 12:40 PM.

  • Session 2 on Sunday, February 8, 2026, will feature the 50M and 100M Backstroke, 200M Freestyle, and 200M Individual Medley. The timeline mirrors that of the first session, ensuring a seamless continuation of the competition.
